Seeking lodgings. (Open)

It was a few days after Oroan had left the woods where he had met the odd young man and had fought the corrupted. He had been traveling solidly, eating jerky as he traveled glad for the alterations made to his body that allowed him to keep walking without rest for days. It came in handy many times when he had been chased down in the past. Even so, he still had his limits and would require some rest. Which was why he had come to one of the cities in Revena to find an inn.

He arrived just at the start of sunset, standing out due to the tattered clothing and the large weapon at the small of his back. He ignored most people that he passed as his mind was preoccupied with the event out in the woods. He would make sure to remember to ask around to see if anyone here had seen the teen come through. If the boy became a corrupted, well that was a terrible fate. On that note he would also keep in mind to try and seek out a healer.

Soon enough he had entered a small out of the way inn. Oroan had long ago decided it would be unwise to frequent mainstream places if he could help it. First he decided to relax with a drink for a bit before securing a room for the night. It wasn't a busy evening so he figured his odds were pretty good. He didn't get anything fancy, just a pint of ale and a modest meal.

Unstrapping the sword from his waist, he set it against the wall, though a thin line attached to the sheath and his belt would keep would be thieves from claiming it while allowing him to drop the level of alertness that he had built up. Sitting back he took a long drink from the stein and then set it on the table before leaning back and allowing his eyes to close to slits, he needed o find some work before long or he was going to be out of currency, and that was never a good thing. this was Oroan's current situation, figuring out where to find work.

Today had been a pretty good day for the doctor. He had walked down the market and bought quite a few new pieces of art from the collector along with being able to spend time with a group of friends that had recently returned from study across the country. He had been given word that a certain special brew of wine had been delivered to the tavern, and he was just itching to try it out. He stepped into the tavern with a brisk step and looked around to see a few of the patrons enjoying their drink. Mercutio made his way to the bar and smiled at the man working. "I have a pickup?"

The bartender looked up from the glass he was cleaning and smiled back. "Ah the good doctor is here! Yeah, we got your order in the back. Just give me a minute to retrieve it." He stepped back and into the back room while the Doctor ran a hand through his hair and looked around, seeing a young looking man with a sword. "Good season for work?"

Oroan looked up at being addressed by someone. His gaze fixed into a man that he would guess was roughly about his own age, and unlike Oroan, this man had a very regal air about him, though something else was there, almost elusive really.
"It is an excellent season just like any season. However, it's the availability that is something of a problem." He replied as his gaze become a little more intense. Something about this man bothered him.

It was the eyes that really got to him. And that's when it hit, h had seen those eyes before, in others he had battled and more importantly, when he saw himself in a mirror. They were the eyes of a predator. This didn't mean the man was inherently a threat by any means, but it would be best to err on the side of caution around this man.

Taking a swing from the stein and then setting it aside, Oroan stood up and gave a slight smile. He wouldn't let the assessment of this person to determine anything. A predatory look wasn't always a bad thing. For all Oroan know the man was simply a very alert and intelligent man. Oroan's own predatory side was combat based and geared to tracking quarries down when going after a bounty, but that wasn't the only type.
"So are you actually interested, or were you just making conversation?" He asked with the slight smile still in place.

The Doctor raised an eyebrow at the man's remarks and gave that airy smile he gave people to show carefreeness. "Oh well if the availability is a problem, surely only an opportunity could arrange for your happiness, correct?" He nodded his head and patted the chair next to me. "Come then and sit with me. Perhaps I can create for you... an opportunity that you seek."

The next question was an entertaining one as well. "Well you see, in order for me to want to strike conversation, one must be interested, no? If not in the subject, then most definitely to the one that owns the subject. I do however, do care as to what business has been like for you, for your business, coincides with my business."

The man behind the counter returned with the wine and the Doctor grabbed hold of it and placed it in his vest pocket. "Tell me then, what jobs are you capable of? How could you be of use to me?"

Tanya opens the door and walks into the tavern. It was rare to see her in this part of the city but she had been out buying things for her spells and decided to stop for something to eat. As she walks toward the bar her hair flows around her like a cape. Tonight she wore a gown that looked like a growing flame, it starts red at the bottom fading into orange then yellow for the bodice. Stopping at the bar she orders a bowl of stew and a glass of the finest wine the man had.

The bartender nods and scurries off to grab her request. Tanya takes a seat at the bar moving her hair so she doesn't sit on it. When the tender brings her order back Tanya nods and hands the man a few coins to cover the price. As she eats and sips her wine she listens to those around her. Tanya had always liked to be around people. Even though her magic could go wild she still enjoyed being near others. She smiles as she crosses her legs.

Oroa lifted an eyebrow at the invitation and grabbed his weapon so it wouldn't be dragged along as he moved, Setting it down he took a seat, keeping a wary eye on the doctor as he sat down. The man was certainly the straightforward type, something that he could appreciate. Though he still felt as if he should keep on his guard.

The next bit that the man had to say would certainly throw people off, but following what a person said wasn't normally a problem for him. Taking in what the man said and comparing it to what Oroan knew was visibly apparent about himself and the mannerisms and appearance of the man, he would guess that he was perhaps someone who would employ a sword for hire, or maybe a man in the medical field which would make the comment hold a subtle even if slightly morbid sense of humor. Something else Oroan could appreciate.

The doctor received his wine and then asked in what capacity that he could be useful. Oroan gave a wry smile at the question.
"That's fairly easy to answer. I'm pretty much exactly what I seem to be, a vagabond who more or less works as a mercenary. Bounty hunting, caravan escort, bodyguard, if it calls for combat skills I can pretty much do it. Aside from that I don't have much to offer for enjoyability." He replied, making it pretty clear where he stood.

As he spoke, his attention was drawn to a pale woman with long dark hair who had entered the inn and sat, getting food and drink. She was certainly a looker, but as she seemed to be minding her own business, he decided to not pay her much mind for the time being and shift his focus on the man he was speaking with. He had to admit that he was actually curious as to if this man had anything interesting to offer.

The Doctor took a look over the young man and nodded his head. "In my line of study, I find it hard to find someone who really is what he seems to be. Impressive really that you would be. Alright. On to it then. I am called on often in the help of tracking down murderers and various other psychologically... disabled persons. What I need... Is someone to follow the leads and give that all too needed death sweep. My last man... perished in a fight with a demon not too long ago. The pay is good. As well as your traveling expenses. For every murderer you end, you get a bonus. Sound like your sort of job?" He looked him over again and smiled. He wondered just what this man had been through and wondered if he would last one... or two jobs.

When the new woman stepped through the door The Doc followed Oroan's eyes and gave a raised brow before smiling at Oroan. "I can't say I caught your name sir..." He waited a moment before nodding his head and handing paper with the directions to his home estate. "Take the night to think it over. Come here once you've decided." He stood up and walked over to the woman, pulling the wine from his jacket and setting it on the table in front of her. "Compliments of that gentleman over there. I believe he fancies you." He turned back to the Mercenary and gave a wink before stepping outside.

Tanya raises a brow as the man sets the bottle of wine in front of her. She turns to look at the other man and smiles. Turning her blue eyes back to the Doctor her smile softens "Thank you but didn't I see the bar tender hand that to you?" She asks softly. "It is sweet of you to try get me to talk to your friend but if he was really interested he could come talk to me himself, no?" She asks with another raised brow. Tanya knew it was a risk she took walking into a tavern but really where else could she get this stew? Shrugging she looks at the man again. He wasn't bad looking and its not as if she had any other plans for the evening. ~Really, Tan, when was the last time you had a conversation with a man.~

She pushes her hair off her shoulder "Thank you again I might have to share a glass with him just because you were kind enough to give us the bottle." She smirks. Uncrossing her legs she grabs the bottle and her glass of wine. With a sway in her hips she makes her way to the table. "Would you like to have a glass of wine with me?" She asks softly.

Oroan wasn't exactly sure what to make of the first bit out of the man's mouth. Though if this person was half as observant as Oroan himself was, (and he was likely much more so) than it would likely be clear that Oroan wasn't the common vagabond. However, he listened intently to the job details laid out before him. It certainly seemed like it was right along with his skill set. He would be lying if he said he wasn't interested. Though he would of course have to make his own follow-ups into each target. It would be rather bad form to go around killing people that this man had selected if they weren't murderers.

He gave a slight grin at the comment that made it clear that his name was expected.
"Oroan." He said simply. Taking the paper he looked it over and as he expected, it was directions on how to contact the man. Looking back up he gave a small nod.
"Very well, I'll certainly give this some thought." He said. Oroan still felt something off about this person, but it didn't seem to be directed at him, and for now that was enough. Watching the Doctor depart, he saw him hand the woman who had entered the wine from his jacket and say something to her before turning to give him a wink and exiting.

She gave her reply after looking over and he gave her a polite nod. Soon enough she had gotten up and walked over. Oroan didn't fail to notice how she moved, he had no problem with admitting she was certainly attractive, though this hadn't been planned. Once she arrived she asked if he would like to share some of the wine. He gave her a small smile and waved his hand to the empty seat.
"Even if I didn't it would be rude to refuse the offer." He said warmly.
"Apparently our mutual friend read a little too much into my observant side, not that I'll complain." He added as he slid his tankard aside to make room for the glasses.

"My name is Oroan." He said as he stood up and gave a slight bow at the waist before sliding the seat out and allowing her to sit before he would push it back in. He was a wanderer, but he had been taught how to be a proper gentleman during his upbringing, and this side of him was all about being polite over anything else. He hadn't planned on really meeting this woman, but he wasn't going to turn down what looked to be a pleasant drink with someone that didn't put him on edge like his potential employer.

Tanya smiles as he stands and moves to pull out her chair. ~A gentleman, that is a nice change in a tavern.~ She sets the bottle and the glasses on the table. Nodding to him she sits on the offered chair. After he pushes her in she smiles at him again. "Thank you. It is a pleasure to meet you Oroan. I am Tanya. And I am sure that he did take your look to mean more than it did. But we shouldn't let a fine bottle go to waste. I am sure he spent a bit of coin on this." She says softly.

As she waits for him to retake his seat she pours him a glass and tops off hers as well. Setting the bottle on the table again she looks at him. Her intense blue eyes warm as she watches him. "Are you from Revera?" She asks before taking a sip of her wine and crosses her legs.

"Indeed we shouldn't." He replied as he settled in and gave a warm grin.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well Tanya, I should at least thank him for getting your attention. I may very have have turned in for the evening without even saying hello." He said as she poured their drinks. He took his glass and waved it under his nose to inhale the scent of the liquid. The Doctor had certainly spent a fair amount on this.

He locked eyes with Tanya as she asked if her was from this area.
"No I was actually born in Erynm. I tend to wander quite a bit, so I don't actually claim to be form anywhere in particular." He said before taking a small sip and swishing the drink around in his mouth to get a taste of it. After a moment he swallowed what was in his mouth and took a slightly larger drink.

"An you, where would you happen to hail from?" He asked, glad for the company and conversation. This was the first time in a while he got to sit down with a young woman for a drink. He decided it would also be best to just enjoy himself and not expect anything but a nice drink and conversation. It was often best just to be content with what came along in life.

Tanya raises a brow. Not only was he a gentlemen but he also knew how to drink wine. He was a rare find indeed. She smirks as she takes another another drink of her wine. Setting the glass back on the table she licks her lips as she smiles at him. "I have lived most of my life here in Revera. Never really thought to travel much. Do you enjoy it?" Not to mention she had been studying her magic so she didn't wander to far.

"So is that how you find work. Just wandering around from place to place?" It had been awhile since she talked to someone about something else besides her magic that she wasn't sure what to say. How hard could it be to talk to another human? Shaking her head she takes another drink. ~You, my girl have been in your books to long.~ She thinks with a sigh.

Oroan was far from immune from the lick of the lips, intentional or not and gave slightly elated look. He gave a toothy grin at the question before taking another sip of wine.
It certainly has it's perks. I enjoy getting around the world. Meet new people, see new sights." He replied as he set the wine glass down, sitting back and keeping his eyes locked onto her's through the dark bangs.

"I can normally find work fairly easily as what I do is often in high demand, but my profession isn't so pleasant to speak about." He said as he grabbed the glass again and took another sip.
"An you? How is it that you make your way in the world?" He asked before lifting an eyebrow playfully and he flashed the toothy grin again.
"Unless of course, that's prying a little too far into your life." He added. Oroan could readily enjoy the casual conversation part of things. He had made something of an art at what was often called 'The chase'

Oh yes, he would certainly have to thank the doc, and the man had certainly played Oroan fairly well. He would have no problem at least hearing the man out and doing some work for him. He could appreciate when someone had won him over. Though right now his real focus was on the charming woman drinking with him.

Tanya smiles again as he asks what she does. "Well I am lucky that after my mother and father died they left me enough to live on. I am a fire mage and I find studying my craft takes most of my time. It can be a tricky bit to master. I learned very early that I had a gift to control fire and have been studying it for almost twenty years now." She says softly as she takes a drink.

She had been known to ramble a bit if aloud to talk about her magic. Taking a breath she looks at him. "Sorry I am sure that is more than you wanted to know about. With it being my life for so long I tend to talk about it more than most." She bites her lip "In your travels I imagine you meet interesting people all the time." Setting her glass on the table she leans forward.

Oroan leaned in as Tayna spoke about what it was she did. He had always found magic to be fascinating as he himself had several magical traits, though he couldn't actually wield spells himself. He hadn't run into a mage that specialized in a single elemental field before though. Most of the time when he met someone who used elemental spells, they employed a variety instead of focusing on one.

He gave a small laugh at her apology.
"Nothing to be sorry for. I've always found mages to be rather interesting." He replied before taking a small drink. He gave a small shrug at the mention of meeting several interesting people.
"While that isn't untrue, it also wouldn't be as often as one may think. Many of the people I meet are employers. Those of particular interest tend to have little need of my services. Though I do run across the memorable person from time to time." He said as he leaned back once more.

Brushing his hair from his eyes and putting on his warmest smile, he lifted an eyebrow.
"So do you have any plans for the evening?" He asked, wondering if they would be able to stretch the evening out, or if these drinks would be the most of the evening. He wouldn't complain about the latter outcome, but the former seemed like it would be much more pleasant.

She laughs as he says its nothing to be sorry for. "You say that now but after a few hours of non-stop talking about why fire magic is better than air or water you might think differently. We that control one can be a bit bias when it comes to our craft." She says with a smile. She was being playful but there was alot of truth in her words as well.

"I hope to rank up there with memorable when you think back on tonight." She says with a smirk. "As far as having plans for tonight. I have none beyond enjoying this wine and talking to you. That is if you do not mind my company." She says with a raised brow.

"Oh I don't ever let such bias get to me. One should take pride in their craft, otherwise I doubt one would find it nearly as interesting." He replied with a soft smile. Having met a few mages, he understood all to well how each held their own practices above others. It was really rather natural when one thought about it.

He gave a sly grin at her comment.
"I'm sure this night will be remembered quite fondly." He said before taking a drink and as he set it down, his smile widened at her response.
"While I did plan to spend the evening on my own, I confess to having this be much more enjoyable. It's good to know that I'm not interrupting anything." He said as the smile faded slightly, though it was still there.

(So sorry its been so long. This month has been crazy)

Tanya smiles at him again. "I am glad that I did not take you away from anything important. You and the gentleman didn't have business that I distracted from did you?" She bites her lip as she watches him. "I would not want to keep a man from his work. It would be rude." She says softly as she takes a drink of her wine. "As for my plans I am often studying so they are easily changed. It is a rare treat for me to be out and about with such company." She moves her hair to the other shoulder.

Sometimes she thought about cutting her hair it did get in the way more than she liked. Running a hand through it she smirks. Maybe one day. Shaking her head she turn her attention back to the man across from her. Smiling she licks her lips again. "Sorry had a thought about my hair there for a moment. It gets distracting sometimes." She laughs softly.
