| Joek closed his eyes as she whispered, frowning slightly at her. "Point me as a liar if you must... However, a bit of stage fright is simple. Here." He pointed to a man standing in the doorway on the otherside of the street.
"Cause him to fear you. Do that, and I'll consider you."

| She let her gaze drift towards the man he pointed out, and her face shifted into a stoic composition. Nodding, she began to walk towards him, shifting her appearance with the ease of a basic illusion. The man would see the person he feared the most, be it an enemy, a spurred lover or his mother who he despised. Regardless, her illusion was backed by raw fear, feeding from repressed emotions and potent.
As she approached him she watched his stature and face change. Without speaking she narrowed her eyes and stepped even closer. Waiting for the man to confront her. As he opened his mouth to speak, she acted calling forth a bolt of frost to paralyze him. Her target frozen, she reached out and stroked his cheek, then whispered something into his ear.
Passing her hand over him, she released his grasp. With that the man took off in a sprint in the opposite direction. Blinking she walked lazily back over to Joek, seating herself beside him, wordless.

| She wondered why the lady had such a problem with having fun. At least that's what she deemed Joek was asking her to do. Play some tricks, do some magic. Although she was uncomfortably close for a few moments. Was Jaz so tiny her presence had gone ignored and unnoticed? Probably; she was good at that. She looked around to examine the crowd and figure out what would be the most fun to do.
And the fae was on the move. Joek told her to make that guy be afraid of her. She watched, interested in what clever play she'd put on. To her disappointment all she did was walk up to him. Boring. Although the frosting was pretty cool. Nonetheless, she stuck her tongue out and blew a raspberry.
"No fun," she said, skittering off of Joek to visit a window. The hanging ivy outside would do nicely. It looked like she was talking to the plant for a moment before landing on the table right by it. A group of surly looking men were gambling, and she made herself comfortable on the piles of money. They paused their game to marvel at the little person, poking at her, making her a little angry. But once she was certain her trap was set, she pushed some of the money off of the table and flew away toward the ceiling out of their reach.
While she was distracting them, the vines outside snaked down from the window and curled under their table, tangling itself in their feet. So when they rushed up to catch her, they all promptly fell over, taking the rest of the table with them, scattering the rest of their money. She giggled at them and flew back to Joek. He had promised protection right? She was still laughing by the time she rejoined them.

| Joek watched the girl work... So... Serious. Well. She was mighty impressive and... useful... He supposed she was going to have to be one of his... other options for when he needed someone to pay his debts. His ranks never had enough muscle. He clapped his hands to her as she returned, nodding his head.
"You get an even cut of what we bring in, as is with everyone else. You do more, you get better jobs, get better paid." Now that business was taken care of, he watched as the little fairy caused her mayhem. He liked this little sprite.
"So. Are you going to be solemn and down all evening? Or will you enjoy the carnival with us!" He laughed as the fairy landed on his shoulder once more, those who were upset silencing at the look of Joek. Protection indeed.

| His words were far from what she wanted to hear, she was not the type to prefer things to be even. None the less her purse was practically empty these days and she needed some time to scheme without constantly having to invent ways to fill her own coffers. This would do, for the time being of course. Nothing was ever truly static, and she did hope other opportunities would stem from this. More profitable ones.
Her eyes watched the little fairy closely, but she herself was not much for mischief, finding it the ugly unworthy step-child of true revenge and malice. As Joek spoke again, inviting her to join them in partaking of merriment, she nodded and offered him a warm smile.
She could indeed let herself have a night of enjoyment, perhaps she would even charm a warm body for her bed.
"Lead on M'lord," she nodded, gesturing with her hand.

| She taunted and made faces at her pursuers who immediately stopped when she hid behind Joek. This person was turning out to be quiet invaluable. It seemed she could do whatever she wanted without consequence as long as he was on her side. She planned to use that fact to the fullest. At the mention of a carnival she got excited and clapped. More fun.
Miss Politeness would be joining them too? Fancy. Maybe she could get her to have some fun. Jaz didn't mind her presence, but there was so much Miss Pretty-and-perfect was missing out on. What was her name again? She brushed off the minor inconvenience. That way she could continue making up nicknames for her. Miss Tall-Pale-and-Boring. That one made her giggle.
